My new merauke!
My new merauke came today! He/she arrived about 3 hours ago and is already eating. When can I start to handle?

Should I wait a week or two to handle or can I start sooner?

Re: My new merauke!
Let him settle in for at least a week before you introduce yourself. And by "introduce yourself" I don't mean handling — stick one of your sweaty shirts in so he can get used to your scent, leave your hand in the enclosure for a few minutes at a time, that kind of thing. Once he shows signs of being comfortable with you, you can start handling bit by bit.
Meanwhile, now is a great time to make sure your husbandry is correct. Can you tell us more about your enclosure?

Re: My new merauke!
Congrats on your new skink! I would wait at least a week before handling or doing anything with your skink. Go slow. Introduce your smell, then your hand, offer tasty treats, and then handle. Good luck and keep us posted.
