Hi,
I'm planning to get a BTS soon. I have done a lot of research, but being completely new to reptiles, I have quite a few questions about lighting and heating. Sorry for the amount of questions, but I'd rather be 100% sure before I set everything up wrong.
1. How do I lower night temperatures? Switch the heat lamp off overnight? Or just leave it on?
2. How do I fit lighting to a wooden viv? Most people I've seen have a mesh lid with the lamp on top. Do I need a metal bracket or something?
3. Dome or a simple light fixture? Are all lamp fixtures universal ie. can I buy any bulb to fit in them?
4. Are ceramic bulbs better than standard heat bulbs?
5. Do I need a bulb guard?
6. What % UVB light? I couldn't find an answer for this one, I just know that they need one.
7. I'm getting a wooden viv, room temperatures are around 17-20 and tend to be stable. Will a 100watt bulb be ok?
Let me know what products you recommend, links are welcome. I'm in the UK btw.
