Thought everyone would like to see.
(It's not mine).
Looks scincoides to me.
What do you think?

Eastern. My dear friend Vin Russo was there and sent me the pic. Good thing I wasn't there. Would have been in hock up to my eyeballs. Gorgeous creature. But I must say, I prefer the classic Eastern over all. I like color contrast.
Still, heck, I want that.

Now that I think about it, that makes sense.
Most of the morphs are in the Easterns.
You should get it, Splashy.
I'll bet you can still make a deal...

There was a pair of Axanthics, too.
Here's one. The other was sold by the time we got back for pics.

I am actually looking for a male t.r. Aspera, if I'm going to get that crazy. That Eastern was 20 grand. Rather have the Aspera....! And again, I prefer the normal patterned Easterns, but if one of those Melanistics comes up...all bets are off!

You'd better get ready then, the Melanistics are here! ;) They've been in the states for a few years, but haven't been bred as far as I know.

I also know that a pair of het Melanistics was sold last year so hopefully whoever bought them will be able to breed them.

I know what you mean about holding out though. Another shipment of Axanthic Halmaheras came in a couple of months ago from the same source in Indonesia that ours came from in 2015. We were going to buy two more, but didn't. One of the reasons was that we're holding out for some Halmahera stuff that is in Europe but hasn't hit the states yet.

...another reason is that we're paying off debt. ha ha!

EASTERN I think. Some breeders here have them and want a fortune for them . ie Snake Ranch in Gosford .... no never been there or ever bought off them and I think they've closed , read somewhere that one of the owners was prosecuted for international wildlife trafficking recently.

Interesting threads. It seems like there have been the same debates and the same view points all over the world going on for decades. I can understand both sides of the issue.

I know that Australia has been closed for export since '74, but stuff keeps getting out. Usually it hits Europe first and years later makes it to the States.

Should be interesting what pops up in the coming years. From what I understand there's a lot of stuff here that we're not seeing yet.

Cool stuff regardless.
