Greetings from a new Blue Tongue Owner

Postby Bytail » Wed Aug 09, 2017 1:55 pm

Hello :) I have several reptiles (10 tanks worth) but this will be my first blue and it has started with a bang. Hasn't been 24 hours, between bad shipping and having to work and I lost him, I didn't close the lid nearly hard enough on his carry cage before I could put him in his new tank. Didn't figure he was big or heavy enough to scurry free of a heavy lid, should have known better. A hard lesson to learn and thankfully one I can walk away from. Two hours of pulling the house apart and I found him in a coffee cup in the kitchen next to the espresso machine. Guess the little guy wanted a drink. Now he's secure and wandering around exploring in his new tank, no worse for wear.

So here I am to learn more, enjoy other people's pictures and stories and forever read and update myself on their care like I do all my other animals and enjoy the company of others who find these guys fascinating.

Hello :) and indeed, no matter how many reptiles you have, there's always one that surprises you XD

He looks to be a halmahera. Friends are calling him Waffle and I think I'm growing fond of the name myself. He does look a waffle iron heh. Eating like a champ on his second day and exploring without too much skittishness.

Omg, I love the name. You have to keep that, it truly seems to fit. Very adorable skink you got there.

yep ... baby / juvi BTS are very inquisitive and rambunctious , and they are darned cleaver too !!! and my two loved snuggles from the getgo ....

enjoy your baby sausage with legs and have lots of fun with him when he's little and pocket sized , he wont stay that little long .... but will become your best friend and constant companion and will not take him long to train his new HOOMAN slave.

I love it, sausage with legs, that pretty much sums them up. Thanks, he's huffy so I'm giving him his space for now. My leos are spoiled rotten, he'll be the same once he calms down :)
