I got a merakue blue tongue skink (whose name is now King) from a reptile show last week and I'm already so in love with her! She's three months and is currently eating a diet of blue wilderness wet dog food, squash, and bananas. I plan to add more veggie variations to her diet when i have time to go out shopping haha. One thing though is that I bought dubias roaches for her but she does not seem interested in live food at all. I'm thinking of buying frozen and seeing if she eats those.
I do have a few questions though about general care;
If I add frozen roaches to her diet should I dust them with calcium even though she has a UVB light? If I should add calcium what brands do you recommend?
I also have apple snails in a betta tank that I hear are good for skinks. How should I go about gut loading them for feeding?
Also in terms of bonding I only got her a week ago so I'm not at all surprised she still prefers to hide than interact with me but what are some tips I can go about with gaining her trust?
