BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

I had a chance to take some photos of the babies this weekend. These guys were born Feb 14th of this year, and are growing fast. They have shed three times already and are just starting a fourth shed. As much as Id like to keep them all, Im planning on holding back three of them, but haven't completely decided which yet.

2015 Baby from the same parents. This girl had much less colour than this group of babies, but still turned out really nice.

I'm so glad you were able to post! These babies (and parents) are gorgeous! It definitely looks like they've grown since the last time you posted.

They are looking great and, man, are they growing!
Have you tracked their weights or have an approximation?

They are growing like weeds!!! I've had to move them all into adult racks. They are eating readily every other day. I weighed them when they were born, all coming in at around 30g, Ive not been weighing them since, but its about time I did.

Here is a picture of the dad. I don't have one of him in the light tent, hes way to skittish that I didn't even try.

Are either of the parents from Susann?
What are you using for adult racks?

Thank you! and yes, good eye, the father is one of Susann's bubs. The mother is a bargain finder skink

These are the racks I use. They work really well but could use some windows, I have plans to add some windows into these in the future. For now the spookier skinks tend to really like this setup.

Thanks. The Dad was the one I had pegged for a Sue B Special. My wife and I tried to talk her into called her line "Clementines."
I remember you posting about making those racks now. I just forgot that was you!
I do remember seeing your posts about assembling your collection.

Clementine would be a suiting name! I love how, even though there is alot of variation, with a keen I one can pick a Sue B skink out of a crowd. It's special.

And thanks so much, I really appreciate your kind words. I'm quite happy with my group and just want to produce some quality babies and enjoy working with them... it makes it difficult when it comes time to find them homes, I'd rather keep them than sell them, tragically impractical.

Hahaha, thanks Sue, I love your enthusiasm, you get it! I'm sorry you won't be having babies this season, I'll just have to take more pictures of your great gandbubies for you to fill the void.

I would love if they could all end up like miss amazing Rosy. Number one in particular has just gone crazy with colour after her last shed. And number two looks the spitting image of Sam or Rosy.

I'm seeing number 7 off to its new home tomorrow, and number 4 off on Saturday. These two lucky babies are about to start their new lives with some great new skink parents. I'm sad to see them go, wish I could keep them all, but am feeling very excited for my babies to become wonderful companions to some first time skink keepers.
