My male Northern has been going wild for about 3 months now, afaik because of mating season. He won't eat and he's very active. He's been doing a lot of extra nose rubbing and it's caused some damage, looks like scabs, which I'm concerned about. What can I do about his nose?

Is there any chance that the bluey can reach the light by climbing a wall. Many light fittings are close the wall allowing blueys to slide into them. This could explain recurring sores.

Re: Raw scabbed nose, what to do?
No his light is outside on top of the mesh lid and he can't climb up to touch the lid. The only rough thing he has in his tank is a rock and maybe his water bowl but I never see him rubbing on those, just the tank walls and corners (corners have that silicone in them so nothing sharp there). It is rather dry in my room though, I find him dry often where his belly scales are rough. Maybe the dryness is contributing to the nose problem?

How high is the mesh lid? Males scraping noses on wire mesh is common problem when going through their restless period.
