BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

Hello,

I am planning to get BTS. I want to put some live plants in the terrarium. I know I know, it is very difficould to kip them alive.
However I will make a custom background with some planters in it and i will put plants in there. Skink will not be able to get there so they will be ok. The reason why I'm asking for plants specifically safe to BTS is because I don't want it to die when he somewhow gets the plant and eat it. Accidents happen

I'm not sure about the list or even which plants are good for blueys. I think there are very few people who have bioactive setups or live plants in thier enclosures mainly because blueys love to burrow, clinb on and rearrange their enclosures on a daily basis. So they can be quite damaging to the leaves and the roots.

I've seen some people keep potted plants to help protect the from the bluey digging them up. But that doesn't stop them from climbing on them.

My suggestion would be to look for some lists of safe for tortoise enclosure plants, since they eat greens sometimes exclusively and at least far more readily than a blue tongue would. Then pick some of the hardier and most resilient on the list.

Try to find and cross check a few lists. And once you have an idea of which plants you like, do some reasearch on those plants in particular.

I've not done live plants myself, but that's likely how I'd go about it. Sorry I don't hAve anything more helpful for you.

You could try grow some flat trays of grass seed (just lawn seed) in a small amount of potting mixture, swap them over after a week or so each in rotation. I'm sure the bluey would love that.

That's good advice. I've waned to try grass in an enclosure.
