What is normal bts behavior?

Postby jmhg11 » Mon Jan 09, 2017 11:38 am

My ij isn't very active, he spends all of his time hiding or basking he's not drinking much but his appetite hadn't gone down. He takes a breath about every 7 seconds or so and is making frequent attempts to escape. Should I be worried about this behavior? (Also it is deep winter right now but I was told ij's don't brumate)

That all sounds very normal, even the breathing.

As for the escape attempts, try covering up the back and sides of the enclosure to make him feel more secure. And add a few more hide spots. The main reasons for trying to escape are insecurity, or looking for girls.

Indo species do not truly brumate, no, however it will depend on the animal. One of mine has been inactive, and basically brumating for a month now, the rest have all just gone about as per normal.
