Hi all,
I believe my young Merauke has a respiratory infection and I'm trying my hardest to get him back in good health. He has a consistent whistle when he breathes, and occasionally I can hear a clicking noise when he breathes or swallows. I'm having trouble finding a good vet to bring him to in the Los Angeles area and I'm hoping someone on here will be able to point me in the right direction. I already tried one at the VCA in Pasadena who proved to be fairly useless since she didn't understand that different subspecies of blue tongues have different care requirements. She prescribed a 2 week course of antibiotics which is now done and there has been no noticeable improvement. She said that there was a chance he had a respiratory infection, but I think the symptoms are pretty evident and she was just outside of her knowledge area.
He's currently residing in a 6ft long vision cage. I keep the hot end between 85 and 90 degrees with a 95 degree and 105 degree basking spot, and the cool end is 75-80 degrees. The humidity usually sits around 40%, which I know is on the low side, and I have a misting/humidifier system in the works, and I'll be adding a humid hide in the next week. His housing was recently changed, around the time he went to the vet, from a 4ft long screened-in cage, in order to increase humidity.
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!

Whoops just saw this. Where is that vet list? I couldn't find any references to reliable vets at all using the search feature.
