BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

Hey guys. I thought I'd make a thread on the matings I am getting this year from my Meraukes. I did this last year, and it helped me a TON being able to keep track of exact dates without digging through posts every which way.

First mating of the year: Hunter x Albert(a). Bit of a surprise, because I thought Albert(a) was actually a male. This was about a 60 sec.+ mating. She expelled some semen. Phone picture, because I forgot my camera in Utah with Susann. Hunter is in shed, but Albert(a) is not.


Second mating for Hunter and Albert(a). Lasted about 45 seconds. She expelled semen, again.

Looks promising Dakota. Good luck with them.

Fourth mating.

Second Merauke female has bred. I have been trying this girl (Virginia) for many months now (since August), and even if she just caught a glimpse of a male, she would immediately go on attack mode. Even if they weren't pursuing, she'd immediately run after them, and try to bite. But today was different. She did not try to bite at all. If I even just slightly stroked her, she would lift her tail up ready to breed. I was afraid she wanted the year off, but I guess she just wanted to wait until "the time was right." So exciting! She gave birth to 7 beautiful babies this February. Hopefully she'll pop out some more next year, too.

Another good mating between Hunter and Virginia. She was a bit more hostile than yesterday, but it was quite a long mating!
