BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

Hi so I recently got a skink and i was wondering if she was healthy or not
So she is pretty dark coloured but day after day she is getting progressively whiter
Like her brown markings are turning lighter day by day
Is this normal?
I've heard of skinks changing colour after a shed but not every day
Is this mites? Or something else because she doesn't show any other symptoms that could make it mites.

She is also very sleepy keeping to the cool side hide sometimes she basks but mostly she just sleeps
She hasn't been eating ethier. The last time I saw her eat was a mouthful last Wednesday. And she hasn't been touching her dog food but she pooed yesterday so she might be eating the pellets I put in her tank.

She won't take banana or any treats and is starting to refuse mealworms. I'm going to buy her some snails on the weekend.

It's getting into spring in Australia and warming up so I doubt it is brumation

I took her out of her hide to check on her because I was concerned and I have been busy recently (I know it is bad but she handles very well) and her scales have changed and she's quite lethargic probably because she was cold.

Otherwise her nose eyes and mouth look pretty healthy. She is at a decent size, not as big as I want her to be but not skinny ethier.

It is pretty cold in my bedroom but my basking temps are good and the cool side stays around 18 degrees when it gets coldest.

I might take her to the vet because the scales are really weird.

Do you see the white going down her body? Every day there are more scales that are turning that colour!!

I'm not really sure what you are describing. It looks to me like his white bits are just part of his markings. It's useful to note that one sign of mites is white specks over the body of your skink (mite poo) but they are usually tiny flecks so unless what I'm seeing on the pic is build up of this (hard to see clearly) I don't think that's what is going on.

Before shed is when the colours do change - their detail on markings can get more fuzzy, sort of like an out of focus photo, and they get very dull looking and sort of 'cloudy' or blurry looking. I'm not sure if this is what you are seeing. It's more a general overall look rather than specific scales. If it it shed, they will be like this for a few days or week or so before shed.

I'm not really seeing anything that is concerning. But it is harder by photo. If you are concerned you could take to a vet but I'm not sure at this stage there's reason to. You could do a mite treatment as a precaution. Sorry this is probably not very helpful... I don't think there's any need to panic.

What is the temp at the basking end and do you have hides at both ends?

It is not really an overall look just every individual scale is turning color. Every day I see a difference.
Could this be dry scales? She is an eastern so I dont think they need high humidity.
The basking temps are around 32-36 degrees they dont go under 30 degrees
And yes she does have both hides
I gave her a tissue box to hide in and she actually just goes under it ahaa

Has she shed recently? Could she be preparing for a shed? Just figured I'd ask since that's when mine even refuse their favorite foods, hide a lot and exhibit subtle color change. Beautiful Eastern, by the way!
