BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

Caspian is going through his first shed or at least his first one with me. He's been getting more active now that he's getting better food and proper heat humidity. Today I had some food ready to give him when one of my cats start being a pain so I stepped out to deal with him. I completely forgot about feeding him until I heard a lot of thrashing around in his cage about an hour or so ago. I thought he was maybe trying to get to his food and I saw he was actually burrowing around trying to get rid of some of the dry scales. He looks so vibrant now though if you look close you can still see some of it on his feet in these pics.

Always exciting the first time(s) they shed, keep an eye on those little legs if they don't come off on it's own within a day or 2 soak the bub in some warm water and lightly rub them off for him, he is looking good.

Thank you! So fare all the trouble spots are clear, ears, eyes, nose, mouth, legs, and all his feet except the front left. I'm trying to give him a little more time to dig around and get that off before I help. Speaking of digging I came home today to find d he'd pushed all his substrate over onto his basking spot and wiggled himself in. I loved how gorgeous he looked under his night time lamp and managed to snag a good pic.

Do you have a humid hide for him too?
