What are some of the favorite foods you guys/gals are feeding your skinks? My BTS is under a year old and is very picky about eating. And he seems to only want to eat what I hand feed him. I'd like to jumpstart his diet with some things he might enjoy.

Re: favorite foods
What type of BTS do you have? Mine eat just about everything offered, and as a treat I give them banana or other soft fruits and insects. They would never refuse pate style cat food either. I give mine different mixes all the time, sometimes even mixing dry with wet cat or dog food for a different consistency. The only time they don't eat is when they are going to shed. Being yours is just about a year, he may be slowing down a bit and less frequent feedings may be in order. Older ones are fine with two or three possibly even less feedings per week. Mine range in age from three weeks to five years, so I feed them accordingly. One has just started to slow a bit at two years, she is a northern. Was yours always picky?

Re: favorite foods
My Noodles used to seem picky until I blended all his veggies, meat, and fruit together like it was suggested on this forum and website page. For meats I rotate between dog food (Natural Balance Gobbler Cobbler is his favorite), cat food, lean ground turkey, snails (he goes nuts for snails), and chicken gizzards/hearts. For greens, I rotate between collard, turnip, mustard, endive, and dandelion greens. I also add in various squash, zucchani, peppers, egg, carrots, green beans, and sweet potatoe. Then for fruits I rotate bananas, mango, strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, cantalope, blackberry, and papaya. I do feed a large variety to offer a different taste each time. I use the ice cube method to prepare his food and then use 1 ice cube per meal. Right now I feed him 3 days a week. I hope this helps and if you have any more questions, please just ask.
