He's gorgeous! Id say just by looking at this picture that he is likely Merauke, not IJ as I remember you mentioned in your previous post.

Am I going crazy, or does that skink look like the adult version of my Domino? Could you attach a photo of his whole body? He looks beautiful from the one you attached.

I did look up Marauke and he does look like one. I have been trying to post whole body shots but it says the file is to big

Yeah, he's definitely a Merauke. He looks to be a very attractive one, too. The easiest way to resize for me is to open it in "paint", then there is an option to resize it down, and I usually do -50%. Or you can upload it via photo bucket, and copy the IMG URL into the text box.

If they are on your phone, I just mssg them to myself as they are automatically compressed and then upload that one.

yes full body will confirm it, my money is on Merauke. Hope you figure out how to post the full body picture, I just want to see him in all his splendor.

Remember, though — they need elevated humidity, so Aspen may render that difficult, unless you have a humidifier of some type.

Just as lovely in the full body pictures. Nice enclosure, I'd also suggest a more humidity loving substrate. I use coco husk and sphagnum moss. Repti bark, and cypress mulch are also often recommended around here. There should be some good threads on it if you search them.

Thanks guys, I will look into both substrates. He has been fine though so far on the Aspen, but I absolutely want to do what is best for him though. So if I need to change then I will. As always thanks for the comments and help.

What a beauty. Very nice looking Merauke! I like your setup and I think it'll be even nicer looking once you switch to a humidity holding substrate... Some funky looking plants too!

An easy way to make sure he has access to the humidity he needs, without changing out your substrate, is to make a humid hide. Take a container he will fit in nicely, cut an opening in it, and fill it with moisture-holding material --I like sphagnum moss because it is mold resistant as well; put it near whatever you use for a heat source, so it becomes like a little warm sauna in there.

No need to change everything out if he's doing fine. Just keep a close eye on his scales and eyes, mouth, and toes.
