Blue Tongue Skink friendliness.
I got my first bluey a few years ago (a baby Halmahera) and I managed to tame her pretty well. She was still a bit skittish, but not too bad. However, as she's got older, I've noticed that she's become more skittish and less friendly. She doesn't seem to ever want/like being handled and will almost always defecate on me or whatever I put her on. Is this common? I leave her alone most of the time and don't handle her as often anymore because of this. My Irian Jaya has been super friendly since a little baby and she seems to crave interaction, and will often scratch at the glass to tell me she wants to come out. She'll often snuggle in bed with me and try to eat my toes under the duvet lol. She's literally the complete opposite of my Halmahera. Has anyone else experienced a change in temperament or friendliness as their skink has matured?

I have been waiting with someone with more experience to respond as I don't have experience with different skinks. But different skinks have different personalities and perhaps that is what you are seeing.
Having said that, have you checked out the information on taming and handling? Also Halmaheras have slightly different husbandry needs than IJs (higher humidity for one) so are their enclosures suitable for their differences?
