Chives?

Postby horrible_capricorn » Mon Feb 15, 2016 2:46 pm

I am getting my IJ on Thurday and just bought a whole bunch of greens for them. I also bought chives. I looked them up on the food chart but, didn't see anything on them. Is it okay to feed a BTW chives?

Chives are in the Allium family, along with onions, garlic, leeks, and shallots; all are poisonous to some degree and should be avoided if possible. Yes, garlic and chives contain less of the thiosulphate, which is the poisonous ingredient, but unless a small amount is already in a food and can't be avoided, I certainly wouldn't add it.

Thank you! Luckily, I didn't buy much. I'm cutting the greens now!
