I picked up 2 more Axanthics a few weeks ago. Enjoy the pictures!

I remember that silver one from the pic you posted before you got your first one. I was surprised that you didn't get that one first, but I'm glad you circled back and got him in the end.
That's a great group!

Ahh, the silver was not for sale at the time. To make a long story short a large group of the axanthics were imported to korea more than 8 months ago. Because of the high price, they have been sitting in the possession of the importers since then (2 main importers). The really silver guy was a hold back, but the importer wasn't caring for them very well and she lost some tails, fingers, and i believe a couple even died.

I met a guy who happened to know the exporter in Indonesia and he talked to the exporter and found out that the importer still had not paid for the lizards. So, my friend went and picked up a couple. Long story short, i ended up getting them for the importer price. Pays to know people!

Yesterday... i found out that the second importer is trying to sell off the 6 he still has. He has dropped his price from 1300USD to about 750. He has guaranteed that he has 3 female and 3 male as he has watched them try to breed. But...he then told me that no one is able to breed halmaheras in captivity (laugh).

The ones he has are pretty dark in color, but i was thinking of making an offer of 500 each for the nicer female he has and one of the males he has.

We will see what happens!

In may i will probably go to an Expo in Tokyo. I have seen some other reallllly high silver halmaheras for sale there. As not many people seem to be working with the axanthic halmaheras, i am really interested to see what happens when you breed 2 reduced pattern axanthics together.

:D

That makes sense.
Excellent work!
I wish we could import some of them to us over here!
They seems to be the same or at least close in age to our two.

Well, if i ever get mine breeding, ill have to send a shipment of them to the USA. No way in hell would they all sell here. The reptile market in korea is FAR too small. :D
