Halamahera vs. Indonesian Bts

Is there a difference between the two? I just brought home my first BTS "Drax" they called it a Halamahera but it looks like an Indonesian. Are they one in the same? If not what is the difference between the two?

Yes, technically they are the same — Tiliqua gigas gigas. However, they are recognized as different forms, meaning they come from a different region, in essence. "Halmaheras" are thought to be collected on or near the island North Maluku, or "Halmahera". Indonesians (commonly referred as a "classic" Indonesians) are thought to be collected in the Seram and Ambon region, more south of Halmahera. They have completely different looks, so most people believe they are different subspecies. I agree with those "most people". Halmaheras are known for their black. Usually thick, black bands. Black webbing on the head. Mostly black tail. Orange/brown back coloration, usually. Classic Indonesians are very mottled. They usually have thin bands of black/yellow/etc. Yellow/green coloration back coloration. Each form is variable — they don't all fit this criteria.
