New person/bts introduction

Postby AvaRose » Sun Nov 22, 2015 9:50 pm

Hi there! I am new to this forum and to having a BTS, and I figured why not introduce myself and my new skink with a picture! This is Dandy - I got him about a month ago at a reptile show and he is doing really well. He is very much a carnivore - he is pretty disinterested in vegetables or even fruits. I can only really get him to eat that stuff when I mix it with protein (usually cat food although I got him some canned snails and he was pretty crazy about them, so I might have to make that a more regular thing). To combat his pickiness I've been continuing to mix up his food and also mix in some vitamin supplements too just in case. Other than that though, he's been pretty great. Very lazy and chill, and comfortable being handled.

I joined this forum today and have really enjoyed the information. I purchased my BTS from a reptile show as well and like you, looking for all the information I can find. Crosby, my BTS is very social and loves to be held, again like yours, I haven't found the right combination of food either, he is not fond of fruit or veggies unless I hand feed them and totally loves snails, superworms (gut loaded) and wax worms. I've had box turtles for years and this is a very welcome addition for our family. Hope to see you on here again.

Nice looking bub, like to t-rex in the background, only way my bubs eat greens is when i mix it in with my dog food.

Most of us handle food the way shown in this thread.

Same, mine will only eat their veggies if I hide them finely chopped in their dog food. Nice merauke, looks almost identical to mine! Welcome!
