BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

Well walked in on 3rd northern lass just dropping a slug and spotted a second,this female has had heavy slug litters the two seasons previously to only 1 baby and 7 slugs last season,season before at least 2 babies and 4 slugs,though i walked in on her eating a baby that year and found another ones tail and then she just dropped 4 slugs

Sooooooo,i thought crap,here we go again,but lifted hide and found 3 healthy babies to and shes still pushing

She first .ated on may 23rd and last mated on june 23rd,i found her ovulating on july 14th and babies today seems she likes the number 23

Interestingly her mum ovulated 2 days before her,july 12th,and mated in same window but only 3 times and late in this girls window so will have to watch her as was expeting around another months time

Stayed up till 1 am but nothing else happened,but on checking this morning found a 4th baby that looked quite fresh basking with one of the males,she appears done now and quite deflated

Final count was 3 babies,then two slugs then 2 still borns that appeared to have died at least a few days prior,there stimachs were already decaying and another baby,she may have had more slugs ect but got eaten by cage mates so in essence 101 days gestation for first 3,102 days for the 4th baby

Oh and before i spotted baby number 4 i looked at big kunnanurras cage and her mum had started dropping as well,spotted a baby basking with her and she was pushing
