BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

Hi guys,

This is just a random update on my little Bluey. I'm posting this because I finally feel like I'm making progress with her (still a guess as sex is unknown) & want to tell someone lol.

Today, after a long couple of weeks, I have finally been able to enter her viv while she has been out without her fleeing into one of her hides or behind a plant or under her substrate & hissing like a mad thing. Granted it could likely be because she saw the food bowl in my hand, & she did spin around & give me a glare when I slid the door open, but I'm taking it as a win. Hopefully, with a little more patience, I'll soon be able to begin hand feeding her a little fruit before each meal.

Hopefully I'll be able to get some new pics of her when I can finally begin handling her without causing too much stress to the little thing.

So yeah, bit of a boring one this time, but I'm just so happy I had to post something

This is what being patient rewards you with. It doesn't always happen this fast, so you are lucky. Just enjoy. But be aware she may not do it every time, she may well dash off again next time, but now you both know this is possible.

Im sure the food helped. If you use food to get their attention every time it will surely get them more used to you because you will start to be seen as the food-giver and they will become less afraid. Keep at it, dont get discouraged if it takes some time! patience is the key
