I'm going to be putting him in a larger (i think it's 55 gallon?) tank and would like to see how you all have your lighting set up, all he has now from his previous owner is a heat lamp and a red light? Thanks!

the issue with 55 gallon tanks is the height, they are rarely wide enough to be good "terrariums" and it's more of a fish tank style tank. 12.75"L x 48.25"W x 20.187"H, if you are trying to utilize it for UVB and UVA will create some issues. ideally you'd want 10 to 12 inches distance for an effective UVB lighting.
it's not exactly the one you'd one you'd want but the 40 gallon breeder, not exactly that kit/setup but it's a more appropriate sized enclosure for your blue tongue than a 55 gallon.

i'll have to check out the dimensions on this one, he's in a 20 gallon tank right now and it's much too small for him, but that's what his previous owner had him in.
