BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

Went to my local pet shop a couple of days back to get some crickets for fattening up my pygmy mulga monitor female and spotted this goldfields stumpy for sale for a suprisngly good price for a pet shop,so wacked a deposit on him and picked him up today


So now i need to find not only a dark coastal girl but also a goldfields female to pr up with my two rugosa males

Been meaning to get more stumpies but hard to find right ones that coincide with when u can afford them,lol

Woah nice one Rich. I saw my first Goldfields in the flesh recently and it was gorgeous even though only a baby and of course they colour up as they get older. Very nice. Maybe you should put a group together!

Though almost 15 years its taken me to get a second rugosa,lol,so i need to work on improving my averages,might have lined up a female for my dark boy,hes been itching to cover something badly the last few seasons

LOL Even in the Land of Skink, You Richard have taken 15 years to get more rugosa, SHM, I think that is majority of what i would have. Really looking forward to watching your group develop than.

James its because i keep getting things like more blotchies,westerns,centralians,egernia ect ect,even asperas,but i have cut back a ton on aquiring more and trying to concentrate on what i have and working them out,with just the odd animal here and there now

Only one i've ever seen in petshops are NSW Easterns, good find dude wish i was that lucky.

Scott,its not all that often you see asperas at shops these days,this is the first rugosa ive seen at a shop for quite a number of years,possably an excess male traded for something,i was expecting to see a coastal with lightish peachy head when i saw goldfields written on the cage and all i could see of it was a 20 cent piece size of black scales hiding under the substrate

So had to ask to see it was half hoping to see a dark female coastal but was happy to see it wasnt at same time to,lol

Cute!! Goldfields seem to be surprisingly easy to get over here considering - Most definitely on my to get list!!
