Genital area questions and sexing

I didn't want to interrupt Nick's thread by posting in there but I found the pics of sexing the baby halmaheras very interesting. Are these hemipenial bulges showing in my Tequilo?
When we first got him, I was sure he was a girl, simply because he was just so darn pretty to me (silly, I know). But then he suddenly wound up looking more masculine. He's around 10 months, 700 grams.
He was extremely shy and scared/cautious about everything when we first got him. When I took him out, all he wanted to do was hide. Never was even remotely aggressive, always had a very gentle nature about him but I'm sure if it was up to him, he would've just preferred to stay in his cage and not be bothered by anyone.
Then about 2-3 months ago, his personality started to completely change! It all started with him scratching at his door, begging to come out. Then when he came out, he didn't want to hide anymore, he was adventurous and curious, all over the place and into everything. This was when we started to say he's looking more like a boy and we changed his name from Tequila to Tequilo. Then I could just tell he was all around more comfortable with me and comfortable with his home finally. I call him my “Big Mush” now. He tolerates all of my fussing and kisses (even if he gives me a face like he's rolling his eyes). He's just amazing now and it's like we got a brand new skink, every day has been something new and fun with him.
Was this personality change just simply him getting comfortable...or him acting more like a boy, searching for girls? Or both? Honestly, it seems to me when he comes out, he's more on the prowl to find food! Especially on days when he doesn't get fed his regular meal, he seems obsessed with trying to find any possible crumbs on the floor! He's even pulled out fibers from the rug because I think it must have had some food smell on it lol.
I'm also curious about something else. Our new baby that we've had a month, we call a girl. Especially after looking at Tequilo all this time, the baby is more delicate with a narrow, longer head (which I do understand can just be because she's small and young and have nothing to do with her sex). I think she's somewhere around 5 months, 280 grams. But she's had me curious about something...the little flap that covers her genital area.
I noticed right away when I first got her that her flap seemed longer and more obvious than Tequilo's ever was. What really shocked me was when I took her for her examination when I first got her, the vet actually lifted the flap and looked in! I didn't even know it could open up like that and it seemed he had hers pretty open too! It didn't seem to bother her at all though. I have not and will not be poking in that area personally, for fear I'd hurt them, but Tequilo's is definitely not near as long and as obvious as hers. Most of the time, I can't even tell where his flap/opening is. She doesn't have any side bulges at all but the flap causes a frontal bulge.
Does the size of the flap have anything to do with sex? Like do the females maybe have more of a flap for protection? Is my baby's flap size normal? And what is the technical term for it?
