BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

Hey! In my last topic everyone helped so much in getting my bluey to eat, so thanks! Now I would like to try to get him used to handling, for at least the purposes of cleaning the cage (hopefully he will take to it more than only those purposes). He runs and hisses and nips at my hands when I am in his tank. Suggestions? Oh and as a binus, how to pist pictures of my bluey here?

To post pictures, go onto post reply and then at the the bottom it will have two tabs, click on Upload attachments. Then click on choose file and add the photos.

If you haven't already I'd suggest checking out the taming and handling section of the FAQ that the mods have created at the top of this forum. It basically covers everything, though I'm sure people can provide some extra tips or ideas to try too!

With handling timid ones that hiss and nip,all i can suggest is go in confidently,and gently

Ideally u dont want to be flinching and going again and again chasing it around the cage as that just stresses them more

Just remember they arent being aggressive,there scared so are putting on a threat display as they feel cornered,so your job is to try and do it with out adding more stress to them so next time they see you they dont pack darkies thinking oh bother,here we go again
