Personal preference?

Recently, my Gulliver has really taken to being let out lately. Sometimes I'll let him out three seperate times a day, just because he's learned how to tell me "I want out", and climb onto my arm. But unlike most of the times he's ever spent out before - which he normally just uses the time to run around and look at everything and hide under everything - he usually looks around for a few minutes, pokes his nose in some things, and then curls up underneath my dresser or nightstand and takes a nap!

I'm curious about this. If all he wants ultimately is to just nap, why not do so in the heat of his cage, in either one of his hides? Does he somehow have a preference of napping where it's cooler? Do any of your blueys like to come out of the tank just to nap?

Whatever the reason, it's pretty cute.

My bubs do that, they scratch as if they want to explore they poke around for 5 minutes then curl up in a ball under something and sleep for 3 hours.
Im not sure why they do it, i put an old T-shirt in each of my enclosures and they seem to curl up and sleep in that a lot of the time instead of wanting to be let out every 5 minutes.

Part of why they go nap may simply be because their core body temperature drops after being out of the warm enclosure for a while. How warm is the house?

Is it unusually dark in the area he is in? I find if I take mine out, even during the day when they are fully awake, when it is particularly dark in the room, they take it as a notion it is time to go to sleep.

The house is in the high 70s, due to the summer and lack of air conditioning. Maybe he just wants to be around people.

No, the room isn't very dark at all. Although I suppose the places he goes to sleep in are dark.

I don't think it has to do with the temperature personally as it can be 40C in my house and they will still go to sleep.

I am not an expert. I would say that even a BTS can sense it is in a smaller enclosure. When you take him or her out, they feel more relaxed. I am sure the temperature and air has to do with it to.
