Help! Pretty concerned

Okay, so my six month old is doing well, is healthy in every area and ect. But for the past month or more, I've noticed him getting out of bed on his own less and less. Most of the time I wait for several hours after his heat has been turned on and if he still doesn't come out, I uncover him from the substrate and pick him up out of it. Eventually he rouses and moves about on his own for the day after that. I've been doing this frequently, almost every morning, if he doesn't do anything for three or more hours.

But today I wasn't at home almost all day and I come home to find that he hasn't moved at all! There were no signs that he had awoken at all today, he was still under the substrate. Why is this??? His temps have been always above the 90, today it was especially hot, even (but not too hot, obviously. Not even a hundred). He couldn't be in brumation, could he? I thought that only happened in winter, and it's the start of summer! If something wrong? He's perfectly fine as long as I wake him up in the morning and acts completely normal and healthy otherwise, but I'm concerned that if I'm not there to get him up he'll stay in bed all day! Couldn't it be unhealthy??

I'd love any advice you have or ideas of what it could be

Lizards are inherently lazy so if they don't have to move then they won't

With a warm ambient temperature and a belly full of a high protein and fat meal they would much rather sleep all day - in the wild they would rarely not be hungry and would be searching for food or defending their territory or looking for mates or avoiding predators and always on the move : from an evolutionary stand point they are not programmed to exercise because it is good for their health

Obesity related health issues are a big killer of reptiles so yes it can be unhealthy if he gets too fat but it can also be unhealthy for his lymph system which REQUIRES movement to pump the fluid throughout the body. This is not as big of an issue in cold blooded animals and they can be sedentary for days, weeks or months but for a BTskink I'd have them very active at least once a week when not brumating

I think yours is just becoming an adult, and adults are lazy. XD Mine was kind of like that too, especially when the temperature changed. He'd either stay buried and rest all day or be up and running around a lot. *shrug* I guess they are like people, some days they feel ambitious and sometimes they don't.

Thanks you two, I was pretty worried. It's just weird to me because if I wake him, he moves around throughout the whole day by himself. But without me, he just lays in the same spot the entire day. And he does get active, I let him out almost every day and let him run around for a while. I guess maybe he's just gettin' to be a big fat lazy lizard! C:
