Picked up my Alpine!

First of all I want to say thanks to Scotts1au for the pleasant and easy transaction for this little girl. She has great color but I only got her a few days ago and is still pretty scared so I am leaving her alone to do her thing and get used to her new surroundings, this does make photos tough but I was able to get this one. Will get a few more when I can to show you her coloring, a nice orange on top. Cheers again Scott!

Good to see she is going well. Hopefully - a she :-) I expect her to shed in the next week or so you should be able to get an idea of her colours. This one should be pretty big, eg. over 55cm as an adult. I can usually tell which ones will be large after the first month or so. :-)

She'll need a soak when shedding - they tend to need more attention when young than other blueys to shed especially to remove the gloves but good when adults because the toes are bit more like a shingle (shorter and stumpier) than an Eastern for example.

You're the man Scott, will post up some better photos after the shed, she is pretty terrified of me at the moment which is understandable, every time I walk in she ducks underground. She is eating well and doing everything you would expect/hope for though so no concerns here at all. I forgot to ask you, how old is she?

Born, on, or around 15 Feb 15. Most were around the 30g mark at birth. I'm guessing around 100 now?

That would be about right, can't handle her at the moment, she sprints away and I dont force handling but will weigh when I get the chance

Oh so you managed to find a Blotchie after all? congratulations they are fun little things even if a bit gung ho and cheeky at times, good thing though is you never have to worry about feeding they chomp down the food the second they smell it.

Yep thanks Nick. Been chatting to Scott for a few weeks trying to organise a good time to meet up since we are a few hours apart and he managed to figure it out for me over the weekend, she has been here since late Sunday night

They are particularly hard things to photograph. I find diffuse light like in a bathroom the best to stop the shine off them which is frustrating.

BTW don't be worried about handling the bluey. Blotchies deal with stress better than most. :-)

Nice one Matt,Scott's blotchie are a beautiful line,think its nice now wait till it matures,you may need sunglasses just to look at it

Ill second what Scott mentioned to,one of the hardest lizards to take a pic of that shows its true color,and they do settle in pretty quick and become quite bold,though the odd one stays a tad shyer
