Breeding success rates

I'm trying to figure out what the averages are for females of each species becoming gravid after breeding. Also, are there any theories as to why certain species become gravid less often than others? I'm trying to figure out if the problems are from improper brumation, poor timing of matings, improper temperatures after females have mated, diet, etc. Often times failures are blamed on poor timing but I can't see why that would be the case since I would think that females that willingly accept males are in the window where they would become gravid if a male has viable sperm. I'm anxious to hear everybody's opinions.

I realize this should be put in the advanced discussion forum but nobody seems to read anything there.

I find pre mating low weight of females to be my biggest factors. Also some skinny females seem to get ignored. My theory is that this is weight needs to be adequate to initiate normal cycling.
