The cost of blotchies in the states?

Is 5500 dollars a lot for a single blotchie in the states, or is that about the going rate?

I saw a trio of blotchies with very nice orange colouring going for three times that amount, and while way out of my price range, it made me wonder if that is in the general ball park for blotchies?

That's way too much. If you are willing to pay that much, I would be happy to sell you some though! :D the going price for a top quality CBB blotchie in the U.S. is about $2000. There are still very few available though.

Maybe you are seeing the Tasmanian Blotcheds that have entered the "public eye" recently? I'm not sure of their going rates but I'd imagine they are quite a bit more than the more commonly seen highland form. A man in Cali recently boughta bunch, and there are some in Maine (or used to be.....).

HAHAHA! Jeff, if I had that kind of cash laying around I would have SO many skinks.

good point ;)

I thought it was a steep price, but have not see any listed before. Likely they aren't in a hurry to sell, they were very nice looking. Thanks for the input everyone!

demand probably outweighs supply so alot are sold before needing to be advertised,a nice alpine is alot nicer looking than a nice tassie

but i guess folk can set some pretty outlandish prices when some types aren't common so who knows

Good point, I dont think I noticed a locality listed, although I didn't ask any follow up questions since my first question was the price tag. At least I didn't get my hopes up

There's been no reason for anyone to advertise them because very few are produced. There was a group of 6 to 8 adults that were changing ownership every few yrs that were advertised a few times but most of those eventually went to Europe. The reason few are available is that while they often willingly breed, the females have an annoying habit of not becoming gravid.
