Its finally starting to warm up around here after that amazingly cold and brutal winter we experienced over here in the Northeast so yesterday I took out my big bruiser male Schwinn merauke for the first official outdoor photoshoot of the season.
I love this skink and can still barely believe I managed to find such a gorgeous example of this line of true cbb merauke for sale local to me back in the fall. He's just such an impressive lizard in person pushing nearly 30 inches in length. He's a total sweetheart too and I simply can't wait to breed him next year.
He came to me with the name Mr. Pickles as he was named by the original owners' two year old daughter. lol. As much as I am really not all that fond of the name, Pickles has managed to stick. I've renamed him like 3-4 times now but I just keep calling him Pickles. So I guess Pickles it is. lol.

Schwinn indicates Bill Schwinn, a recently deceased man that bred Meraukes for decades. He got one of the first ever Meraukes imported in the 90's and that had a certain look to them as the photo shows.
