Just measured Alice:
8.25" SVL
15.5" overall length
SVL is 53.2% of length
93.9% of SVL = tail length
Just over 9 months old

Any input from other species (or same..)is greatly appreciated.

Whats SVL exactly? Google tells me its silver mining and volleyball and i doubt that is what you are on about.

Yes, snout to vent length.

In case people are wondering how I did my math:
SVL percentage to total length = SVL / total length, then move decimal over two times
Percentage of SVL being tail length = SVL minus total length, then divide that number by the original SVL, then move decimal over two times

According to the BTS bible, T. g. gigas' tails are supposed to be up to 94.8% of SVL, which sounds right. Alice being female, she is bound to have a larger SVL.

Thank you for participating. Talk about a difference in SVL percentage to tail compared to T. g. gigas! The BTS bible isn't supplying exact data for Easterns pertaining to this, but it does mention their SVL is about 2/3rd of body length.

I will do my other 2 now, will edit this post when done, always happy to help peoples curiosity or research.

Hi folks, what is this thread attempting to show? Do you need to structure the question for what in you need, eg known sex.? Comparisons with other species?

Mainly the differences in the different species/subspecies.
