Ahhhh! Titus bit and got flung off :(

I had a friend come over and she reached into the tank to scratch Titus on the head but he turned his head up (very odd, never seen him do that before) and sort of launched and bit her. She freaked, withdrew her hand with him hanging on it, and shook him off, sending him flying sideways some 4-5ft. He landed on carpet and doesn't seem impaired or have any visual wounds, but I'm so scared he's hiding an internal injury. He's only a baby. Are baby skinks tough? What signs should I look out for if he's in pain?

Pretty normal, one of the reasons to be careful with people not used to babies when handling them. I've flung the odd one myself, as well as my kids. It should be ok they are pretty rubbery.

It is best to let someone new hold it whilst sitting on the ground, or somewhere low. Sometimes if you handle it for a minute or so and then hand it to someone, the bluey has normally calmed down and is less likely to do it.

Thanks, that's a relief. It's hard not to immediately jump to the worst-case scenario as a first time parent. I've taken him out for a closer look and he seems to be moving normally and have everything in full working order, so I'm breathing easier now.

Just keep an eye on the cheeky bugger for a few days or week or so, they are hardy thing so he should be fine as Scott said for future best to have your friend sit on the couch or something and then you take Titus out and place it on there lap, and also warn them that if he does bite or get cheeky to not flap around like a bird.

My little alpine Bub had a fall a week or so ago, from about knee height down. She's fine btw no injuries. But point is I was told by experienced reptile peeps that in case of worrying about internal injuries just to look over them carefully for any bruising discolouration that might indicate a prob. Does anyone know if this is true?

She must've been swooping in a bit too fast for his liking, he was twitching angrily right before he bit like those little ones in your vid Scott. He's never bitten or displayed before, this is a new one.
