I got a merauke at NARBC! ok to house with a northern?

Postby danimal82 » Sat Mar 14, 2015 9:49 pm

i'm the proud new owner of a young merauke. i originally wanted a northern, but we did not find any. i am wondering if i can keep him together with a northern bts once i am able to find one to buy. what do you guys think? my new merauke is super nice and docile. i would be very happy to find him a northern buddy/mate. however, i do not know how to go about determining the gender. i only saw one vendor with skinks at NARBC and they only had meraukes but i look forward to getting a northern sometimes this summer when they become available and maybe producing some baby merauke/northern babies.

nevermind, after some reading i see it's not a good idea to keep them together or mix breeds. i still want a northern though...

Plus northerns and merakues have different humidity requirements. Also it's really not a good idea to house skinks together. Their are some breeders that have large outdoor enclosures and have no problems. They have plenty of room to get away from each other. I have 5 northerns and they are all separate.
