Halmahera size?

I'm most likely going to be in the market for a BT soon and I'm researching them now. My internet searched don't yield me the results I would like, I can get basic info but not as much specific info as I would like at times. I've gathered that Halmahera's are at this point classified as just Indonesians, or so I read somewhere, but what is the size range on them? I like the looks of the Halmahera but I'd like something large so I'm leaning towards the Northern, and they seem to be the easiest to breed and have the largest clutches.

Feel free to school me on anything else! I'm not a go get a pet on a whim kind of guy so I'm in the fact finding stage right now but if I ran across something I'd probably jump at this point.

20"± is typical. I have seen them as tiny as 18" and as large as 24" (if I recall correctly). I only have 1 adult, and he is 21". Halmaheras are a large form of T. g. gigas, but compared to even Meraukes (which are T. g. evanescens), they are small. EXTREMELY long tails account for a lot of their size. As far as SVL goes, they are probably the third smallest in the genus. Pygmy's #1, classic Indonesians #2, and Halmaheras #2.

Like Dakota said, they are long and lean and "whippy" looking.

My Northern cross is 20" long but weights 650 grams and I bet an T.gigas would be half that weight at the same length.

Hmm. Keis Islands and Halmaheras are just about the same size. I guess they are tied for #3. Although they a lean, they still have rather bulky heads.

I stand corrected. I went digging around in the bluey bible, and these are the maximum recorded SVL lengths of every subspecies/species in the genus of Tiliqua.

often sizes in print are based on averages,i think the bible might be going off largest reccorded svl,s though,i hazard to guess some could easily pip the largest sizes recorded
