BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

I got my blue tongue from Nick Mole at first choice reptiles. He is an indonesian and I sadly suspect wild caught (what do you think?) can a wild caught blue tongue live a full happy and healthy life in captivity or is he doomed?

He is absolutely not doomed. just because he is wild caught does not mean he won't live a good life in captivity. people worry that wild caughts are mean tempered and cannot live in captivity at all. while they tend to be a little more skitish and afraid they can become as tame as any captive born and sometimes even more so. it takes time to handle them and get them used to human interaction just like a captive born skink

Most Indonesians are WC adults or farm bred, which means they are bred for the pet trade in their country of origin and imported as babies. My farm bred Merauke is no different in temperament, health or otherwise than my captive bred Northern. My Halmaheras, also farm bred are absolute sweethearts also, but a bit more secretive which I believe is their nature regardless of where they came from. Imports sometimes may arrive with health issues, but if addressed promptly there should be no problems thereafter if cared for properly. If anything is suspected, a visit to your exotic veterinarian is in order. Don't be afraid, back in the 80's the word 'captive bred' was probably not even used in the reptile industry.

I don't get what you mean, "sadly I suspect WC." Not trying to sound hypercritical, but if you done your research, you would know it is WC, with a small possibility it was birthed by a mother that was recently WC if you got a small baby. First Choice Reptiles are importers.

To answer your question, no WC animal is doomed in captivity if you give them what they need to thrive.
