Recent finds in WA

Some shingle backs that we found in a recent trip to WA. We found several pairs hanging out together, which was really cool. Such an amazing species. The tragic thing is finding far more DORs in the same area than live skinks. We probably saw 50 or more carcasses of shingles and westerns. Unfortunately, I missed finding an occidentalis or a multifasciata again!
We found around a dozen live shingles around Nambung, mostly by hiking around through the beautiful landscape. It was such a thrill to find these guys and to watch them cruise around their environment. I would love to work with shingles someday.
Enjoy,
Justin

Yeah, I really like the white on some of these as well! These were found in November, so it has been a while since I saw them. They are likely not paired up now.

Amazing pictures!! Hopefully in a few years I'll make it to Australia. My sister went a few years ago. She did most of the tourist stuff. Not really into the wildlife like I am.

Great photos! I've been to Aus a dozen times but never to WA. I think I'll have to change that...

Thanks guys! I love WA! So many cool reptiles. I have put up pictures from two separate trips to WA on my website (australianaddiction.com) on the visits page of all the various animals that we found there! Such a great place. I hope to go back soon.
Susann, I would thoroughly recommend a trip to Australia. It is well worth it!

I really like both the quality and subject matter of these pics.
As nice as it is seeing captive animals nothing beats seeing them in their natural surroundings.
