Floral Foam for Humidity?

I'm thinking about make some humidifier,like a cigar humidifier,but larger.I first thought those floral foam I saw in the flower shop is great for that,but that green color make me thinking about the safty of it...would that poison for lizards?Cause I'm also thinking about make one for a gargoyle gecko...
How about sponge for bath or dish clean?Maybe that fill safe enough?

It may work for a gecko but wouldn't use it for a BTS because of possibility of lizard tearing it apart. A better option would a mix of coco fiber and sphagnum moss as substrate and daily spraying (as I do for my crested, gargs, and leachie). For my BTSs I use cypress mulch or aspen shavings with a large terra cotta plant saucer and a hide filled with damp sphagnum moss.

It's kind of hard to get sphagnum moss here at this time of year,and skink may dig around make coco fiber very massy.
I can make a cage box to cover it,so skink wont tear it apart(still may be better if I can find some moss in market after this season).I'm more worry about the gecko,since he would more likely to lick floral foam for water rather than drink in water bowl and it would be bad if it poison the water.
