Eric the Eastern has arrived - a rescue

It had to happen some time.

One of my students came into class yesterday (Thursday) carrying a very small box.
She was very worried. Her daughter found one of her cats playing "with something".
.... guess what? .... ah ha... a baby eastern A very tiny baby Eastern.

Eric has bite marks on him, but none of them appear to have punctured as there's no weeping wound.
They're difficult to see in the picture.
Feisty little creature.
He's so tiny and light, barely registered on my digital scales.
I've had him for 24 hrs and now he's had a tiny bit of cooked chicken and a drink of water.

Could be Erica for all I know !!

must be a reasonably recent newborn,looks tiny next to cage props and water bowl,lol

good signs its had an eat ect already,cat wounds can be very hard for them to over come if they penetrate the skin a bit,fingers crossed this lil tyke doesnt have to go through that

Richard, he seems to be ok. Yes, he's very small, in fact I wondered if he was only about 24 hrs old. My student rang me yesterday & said she'd found another one, but in much better condition and no bite marks. That one has been moved to the creek area near where she lives. I don't want any more lizards at the moment!
Eric has not attempted to bite me today.

yeah average baby time for them in melb area is late jan to mid feb,so should start seeing alot of lil tykrs about now,no ones told my girls that though,lol but teo must be veru close,both recentlu have shed,big fat guts but rapidly dropping tail base condition,one girl held on to mid march last season so im wondering if perhaps theu are going to be late again,odd,my northerns go earlu,everything else tests my patience,lol

good chance that the 2nd one spotted is a sib of this one laurie,mind u ,eaterns have a bit of a habit of having quite a few adults in the one area so a couple of females could have easily populated that area recently to
