Blue tongue 'puffing up'?

Postby akpanuka » Sun Feb 01, 2015 11:28 pm

I wasn't able to find any information on this elsewhere, I was a little curious since he has been doing this for awhile but not sure if it is bad or meant anything in particular?
Sometimes when he is just you know, chilling in his tank, his body pretty much 'expands' and he looks REALLY bloated. I've noticed that he usually flattens himself a little when basking and such, but this isn't really like that, he isn't flat just...really big looking. There is no sound or anything involved, he kinda just does it every now and then, I'm just curious to see what it means I guess.

Thank you!

Usually they puff up when they want to hiss at you to scare you away, when he does puff up are you near his enclosure or are there any loud sounds nearby that may have startled him or a loud moment on TV or anything.

Really?
It usually seems pretty unprovoked, I can't think of anything out of the ordinary going on when he does it, it almost seems random to me, although I have noticed he gets a little huffy with me if I touch him when he's like that.
I'll try to keep an eye out for anything that might be aggravating him, maybe there is something I haven't been noticing.
