BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

Well with a lot of Skinks to keep track of , they must be in order, so you know witch ones are where, at any given time.
Mine are all grouped together by species and or temperature requirement , for what room they are in , and for ease of breeding.
As in all males are in the mid height of racks , and I move the females from above and below to the males , so I don't have to bend too much
while they are together, to break up any fights or if they want to jump out.

In the Garage Vision V-70 for adults


And Vision V-35's for grow out, before the 5 new V-70's I will be adding.

That will fill the Garage.

To the spare bedroom .... cross that out ! The Indo room !
This spot used to be a sliding two door closet, Three V-70's are a perfect fit !

Baby racks , Vision V-18 tubs and some switched out to V-35s (short) for first stage grow ups.
The babys are now between 14 an 17 inches, time to move them to the garage in the V-35 grow out racks.

The Vision boa / Python rack for the Blotched , they were outside all winter (Hope it got cold enough) I'm trying this for the first time, moving
them in the Boa rack to keep warm to breed , so they don't keep getting the cold fronts outside like last year to shut them off.

I think it might work , It's a start.


I also keep the baby turtles and torts in there , The Indo room never gets below 72 deg. F even thou all racks are heated.

That's great! I know at least down here in Ft. Myers is got down to the low 40's quite a bit this year, with the wind making it even chillier! Quite a cold winter this season, I have to say. Can't wait to see what comes out of the Indo room. :-)

Looks great,wish i had spare rooms ect to dedicate to different species/climates,fingers crossed on the blotchies,looks promising,just saying but during there natural breeding season,cold fronts are common,suprisingly they even still mate on some of the cooler days,somehow managing to keep there body temps up,i believe scotts were mating on a 16 degree day a few months back when they were going for example,its more usually hot spells i guess that shuts them down,when ambients have risen consistently shutting females windows

Hopefully they produce goods for you this season though,looks like there doing there best to make that happen

Quite a few Aussies using vision racks for blueys these days too.

The "warm fluffy" type of reptile keeper though would be having a coronary at thought of blueys in racks, but the proof is in your results of many happy healthy skinks, and adults eager to get jiggy with it.

Awesome set up! I like to look at mine but don't have hundreds! Wish I had that kind of space and time, I'd do what you are doing.
