Was able to pick this amazing skink up today courtesy of Kim Lancey. He's even better in person then I could have ever hoped for, just an amazingly beautiful eyeband. And a total sweetheart. Thanks SO MUCH again, Kim!!!

That is a great representation of a true Eastern in captivity outside of Australia.

I have seen many in the wild just like that over the years. No wonder you are happy with that pickup.

Congrats!Awesome pickup, do you know anything about its history. And I agree with Rory I have been searching Instagram for pictures of wild Easterns and have collected a bunch that look just like this guy from the Sydney area of Australia.

Thanks guys! Yeah, I really couldn't be happier with this big guy. He's just calm as can be too and a proven breeder. He was produced in Europe but I'm not sure exactly what year. I purchased him from Kim Lancey, this is the male of the pair he had gotten last year he had brought over from Europe and I THINK were produced from eyebanded easterns originating from a French breeder. I was also given the opportunity to take a gorgeous adult male stokesii off Kims hands too, who I am equally in love with and will post pics of in the other skink section when I get a chance.

This is a picture of my male and the female Kim still has when he first brought them over last year, my new male on the right and his female on the left. He was able to pick up another gorgeous male from Jeff and will be hopefully pairing it with that amazingly dark female this season, which is mostly why he decided to let this male go, that and me living close enough to him to avoid winter shipping.

Sedation - How many eyebands did you pick up again this year? How are they doing? Are you going to be pairing them up this year? You definitely need to take a few new pics of them sometime soon, I love Marks easterns, I really hope to pick one up eventually since they're probably mostly unrelated to either of mine.

I picked up 4 of them and am leaning towards 2.2. Not sure if I will try to pair them this year I may but think they will be better off if I wait until next year. They are definitely large enough with most of them averaging out at about 16 inches but we will see, at least I'm not currently trying. Mark's female, the mother of my four is a wild Australian eastern stowaway that he was lucky enough to acquire so they certainly are unrelated to yours. Here is a pic of one of mine next to my 2 year old daughter for size reference.

That's a gorgeous animal! Yep. You definitely just sealed the deal for me 100% needing one of Marks easterns. Or maybe now one of yours when you do breed them! I should send my male your way when you do, that way you could produce completely unrelated babes. I like how we seem to have at least a few separate bloodlines over here now and I'm sure theres gotta be a few more floating around Europe. Now to just find the key to unlock why stateside breeders have such trouble getting them to produce when aussie breeders have no issues at all. Hmmmm....

Aussie breeders have no issues at all because there like the leopard gecko of the pet trade here,plus they are veru adaptable to different climates as theu are found from sa right up to north qld,encompassing the most heavily populated parts of australia,hence the often termed name of common blue tongue

Nice examples of eye band easterns,seadation yours definatly has rhe size to produce,looks fantastic,nothing wrong with giving them another year though
