Kimberleys threw out another of these

Postby RoryBreaker » Sat Dec 27, 2014 12:42 am

A few seasons ago, a couple of axanthic looking blueys were born out of a litter of Kimberley Northerns that I have. Those babies didn't make it. I have been waiting for them to raise their heads in later litters, and this season one has turned up. I actually had the mother out on breeding loan and a male that was related to her was put over her. Anyway, here it is. Still hasn't had its first slough yet. Hopefully I can get it to survive this time.

And what they looked like last time compared to a normal sibling.

Awesome! The axanthic gene is awesome. We actually have axanthic Northerns in the US, too, but not Kimberley's..

Old Jinjajoe photo bombed my thread on this over at APS, but that forum went offline not long after...hahahahahahhaha.

Don't bother going to have a look, that forum is still MIA. :noknow:

That bts has really dark eyes! That looks nothing like a Northern bts! Congrats, I know you are paying close attention to this one! I hope it lives past the age the other one died.

Hmmm, dave, your newest one is from some bloodline as my prince regent female, jor mentioned to me recently something genetic about them when i posted a pic of my palest hold back from her,im pretty sure none of mine have come out like your two from word go with dark eyes, but a couple have light grey looking eyes as apposed to the normal orangey brown, might have to have a closer look

There's the new one, no time at the moment to do an in depth post. Will get to it later tonight.

Cheers,
Dave.

Very cool Dave.

I see some true snow blue tongues on the way in the near future. Technically they would have to be eastern x northern (I haven't heard of any axanthic easterns), but seeing that bridge has already been crossed with the albinos I can't see it stopping anyone from here.

I'm not quite ready to call it yet, but this pure Eastern is promising for the same sort of mutation.

Rory is it just the pictures or are the eyes on these guys black. They look like the eyes on the T+ Caramel Northerns we have here that are produced by Ray.
