Mites or shedding?

Postby Andee » Fri Dec 19, 2014 2:26 pm

Little Chronos is becoming more accustomed to being handled, but what worries me is there are some rough patches of skin on his body. I know he's shedding on his head, and he keeps rubbing on things and walking weird so I assume he is just shedding. But their skin is so different when they shed then any other reptile I ever have had. I was planning on taking him to the vet in a couple weeks. Should I go sooner and make sure he doesn't have mites?

I just got rid if mites... They are so easy to see... Black dots crawling all over your bts head, neck and underneath scales they imbed themselves. I just used prevent 'o mite all over my bts cage. Problem solved! I used mite off by zoomed to clean my my bts. Very warm water and a long bath to drown mites is necessary.

I don't see any black dots at all, so hopefully it's just shed. But thank you for the response so I at least know how to get rid of them lol. I will talk to my vet when I take him in, hopefully he won't show any signs of needing to go in before.
