Happens all the time whem I feed mealworms to blue tongues so I avoid them when I can. Every so often a similar thing will happen with morios; my female demolishes them but the male is more gentle and sometimes they're still alive so crawl back up or cling to the roof of his mouth. He gets over it eventually but he stops eating for the day when it happens.

Happened one time with a superworm. Now I crush their heads.

Sorry to hear of the bites your bts received... I love feeding nightcrawlers, no mouths to bite.

I always hold the mealworms tightly and make sure they are in two peices before my bluey swallows them :) You could also just cut them up as stated above.
