Hey there!
My name is Lauren. I live in Washington state, and I'm a first time blue-tongue owner.
Now, I have to admit, buying a bts was sort of an impulse move. I was actually looking through Craigslist for fish tanks when I came across an ad for a merauke for sale - but since I'd decided about two weeks before that I wanted to eventually get a bts, and I just happened to have an appropriately sized tank and most of the supplies...
His (well, or her) name is Calcifer! He's a year old, captive bred, and very sweet tempered. <3

Welcome to the forum
There is a ton of great information on BTS on the site and some members knowledge on skink medicine has save more than a few blueys from an early death when their vets had given up.
PS I am a fan of anime as well and "Howl's Moving Castle" was one of my favorites

Re: First Post - Hi!
Thank you for the warm welcomes!!
I've browsed this forum before when I had questions, since it seems like just about every topic has been covered here at least once, but I only just decided to actually go ahead and register. I really love the amount of information here! Especially all of the info about meraukes, which was sort of difficult to find elsewhere.
PS You got me! My friend was the one to suggest Calcifer, after the humorous fire demon, and it just fit. Always good to meet another Miyazaki fan!
Unfortunately, I have no idea who the breeder is. All I know is that Calcifer's around a year old and that the breeder is probably in the Northwest, Oregon/Washington area, since that's where both the previous owner and I live. I really wish I'd remembered to ask. D:
And, thanks!
