The old girl

Actually havnt seen her since mid april,she dropped babies early april and pretty much went straight into brumation mode,didnt eat ect ect,shes a tad lean looking,hips visable,be interesting to see if she takes the year off or not,ive seen her skinnier and she bulks up fast and ends up dropping litters,so i guess alot depends on getting food into her before that time of year comes

Todays actually quite cool,only meant to be 16 top today and was raining earlier,cold night may have brought them out,supposedly going to get a bunch of nice days next week so will see if any are interested in some food then

Nice one Rich. Is that a natural burrow that the Victoria alpines are coming out of, or one that you have made?

It is interesting that your female goes straight into brumation after birthing. Just shows how tough these guys can be I suppose...

Thats an old pile of weeds i had ripped up in there cage mark,ive started to leave it in piles in there,more so for the easterns that like it when it drys out as it holds a bit of warmth for them and its been rhe only way they seem to do alright for me brumating in these outdoor cages,some of the blotchies have used it to,but they tend to go to the bottom where its moist and not so much warmer

Give me a few weeks when weather maybe warms up a bit and ill grab some better pics of the lowlands,i actually thinned my herd right down as i had a heck of alot of males and only one female ,but got a new group late last season so have the lone female with this new group of 3 males and 2 more females plus a youngster

I didnt cool the little tyke so its indoors until it warms up abit then will go out with the new group,its a last seasons baby from another female that was part of this group with previous owner

I held new group indoors and brumated them very late,the 2 females had litters just prior to me getting them and i wanted to bulk them up abit,biggest female supposedly dropped a litter of ten,this pic is me putting them outside to finish brumation/wake up slowwwwwwly outside,lol


The day i popped them back out was actually a nice dau of 22 degrees so out door basking temps in spots were in the mid 40s,the 2nd pic is 5 mins after going outside,having a big drink,a few warmed up and had a bite to eat,but after that day its been roughly 16 degrees ever since and they have hidden away again,next weeks supposed to be low th mid 20s so will try and get some better pics for you then

How good is that weather you guys have down there!

Been warm up here now for a while. Days are mostly above 25, already hit 30 C once already.
Some warm nights here too, the Carpet Pythons are active. Seen a few crossing roads and a couple of road killed.
The Eastern beardys have been out since mid August. I counted 6 on one road during the week.
Haven't seen any local blueys, but that's normal. There are thin on the ground around these parts.

I was down your way a couple of weekends ago. The Saturday night was on the cool side but the days were beautiful, no or little wind, no cloud and temps in the low 20s. The sun has some bite though. Saw a Jacky Dragon basking on the oldies front gate as I left.

U lucked a small nice patch rory,lol,but next week is suposed to be similar with a couple of 25s thrown in,so should see some activity,i still havnt seen any wild blueys this spring,havnt overlu looked though not even any dor,s but probably will with next weeks nice weather

Thanks for posting, Richard. Everything of mine is well and truly awake now. Last week, my three shinglbacks ate half a can of my dog just in one sitting. The poor little dears were very hungry and a little grumpy. Today the temperature is up close to 30°C, even in the Perth Hills.

Out of curiousity, do the water dragons and blueys get on okay in those enclosures?
