Frothing at the mouth and aggravation [Help]

Postby Asmrran » Mon Sep 15, 2014 11:26 am

Hello, I've had my skink for almost a month, making it 2 and a half months old, today while handing my skink I noticed a slight white foam at the corners of its mouth. My skink has also been very irritable for a few days, huffing quite a bit, lurching out to bite and even flashing its tongue. Does anyone know whats going on?

I also don't think its a respiratory infection, my skink hasn't been sneezing a large amount and has no crusties on its nose.

Does he flick his out tongue a lot? Sometimes when they are excited, they will develop a foam around the mouth due to the rapid flick of the tongue.. just like a dog that sticks his tongue out a lot.

Is he in shed?

If your temperatures are OK, and you hear no abnormal crackling, then I would bet it is rapid tongue flick. One of my Meraukes is SUPER bad for it. He gets so excited when he outside his cage..
