Gave my lil outdoor cage a good weed out,had to pull easterns, landmullets and alpine blotchies out over winter as angle suns on gives cage no winter sun, anyways ,suns starting to get back in there now its early spring here, got out the temp gun and with todays top being 22 ,checked temps and its in the 30s in a few areas so decided its a good time to put brumating tub of lowlands outside for a slow natural wake up
4 out of the 6 went straight to the water bowl for a big drink, one even had a bite of dogfood
popped brumating lowlands outdoors

Re: popped brumating lowlands outdoors
Often i blab on about conditions in outdoor cages, how even in cold climates u can manipulate the sun to offer warmth, and how the easterns down in my neck of the woods can use heat like this in a cold environment to become active and mate earlier than whats normal for blotchies
Anyways heres some pics of temps i took from varies areas in a ten by 5 foot outdoor enclosure on a dau with a max temp of 22 degrees celcius
Ground temp of substrate in the sun
Ground temp of substrate in the shade
Surface temp of one basking against back wall
Basking temp ontop of wood hide
Basking temp on slate tile sitting on top of wood hide
This cage is alot better at supplying this range of temps than my main blotchy cages, its little wonder those ones are still lethargic, dont have the options of this small cage
